My son who is 7 years old was diagnosed with right inguinal hernia 2 week back and got operated for the same.now,he is again diagnosed with left inguinal hernia.what is the cause for this to occur within a week's time.he was born premature at 8 months 1 week.Can you please guide me on this issue .

cause is not well explained in literature but prematurity could be the reason in your child. due to prematurity deep inguinal ring fails to close normally and abdominal content like intestine is protruding through this defect.
