Information
Naproxen is a non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs (NSAID). It works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.
Naproxen is used to treat pain or inflammation caused by conditions such as arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, tendinitis, bursitis, gout, or menstrual cramps.

Most prefarable to take after food.
Mode of Action
It works by inhibiting the formation of inflammatory mediator prostaglandin (PG) by blocking the activity of enzyme COX (cyclooxygenase) ; no PG if formed from arachidonic acid and thus reduces pain and inflammation
Uses
Rheumatoid arthritis.
Osteoarthritis (degenerative arthritis).
Ankylosing spondylitis.
Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.
Acute gout.
Acute musculoskeletal disorders
Dysmenorrhoea.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to naproxen
Patients with active or history of gastrointestinal bleeding or peptic ulceration or perforation.
Severe heart failure, hepatic failure and renal failure
During the third trimester of pregnancy
Precautions and Warning
Patients with a history of hypertension and/or mild to moderate congestive heart failure, sometimes fluid retention and edema can be seen so caution is required.
GI bleeding, ulceration or perforation may occur with NSAID use. When GI bleeding or ulceration occurs in patients receiving naproxen, the treatment should be withdrawn.
Caution is required if administered to patients suffering from, or with a previous history of, bronchial asthma.
The product should be used with caution in patients with a history of, or in those with impaired liver and kidney function.
The combination of naproxen-containing products and others NSAIDs is not recommended, because of the cumulative risks of inducing serious NSAID-related adverse events.
