ROLFAST-20 is the brand name of Rabeprazole Sodium 20 mg Lyophilized Injection. It decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach.

Dose and Direction of Use
Add the SWFI given to the vial and shake to dissolve. Use the dissolved solution via. IV infusion or bolus.
Mode of Action
- At the surface of stomach lies a proton pump known as H+/K+ ATPase pump which is responsible for secretion of acid in stomach.
- PPIs work by binding and thus, inhibiting the proton pump and decreasing the secretion of HCl into stomach.
Uses
- Active duodenal ulcer
- Active benign gastric ulcer
- Erosive or ulcerative gastro-oesophageal reflux disease
- Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease long-term management
- Symptomatic treatment of moderate to very severe gastro-oesophageal reflux disease
- Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
- Eradication of H.pylori
Contraindications
Don't use this medicine if you have:
- Hypersensitivity to this medicine
Precautions and Warning
- Symptomatic response to therapy with rabeprazole does not preclude the presence of gastric malignancy
- Acute interstitial nephritis has been observed in patients taking PPIs
- Cyanocobalamin (vitamin B-12) Deficiency: Daily long-term use (e.g., longer than 3 years) may lead to malabsorption or a deficiency of cyanocobalamin
- If antacid like sucralfate is to be taken then take rabeprazole atleast 30 minutes sucralfate.
- Rabeprazole can cause risk of bone fractures if taken for longer time at higher dose so take calcium supplements if needed as prescribed by doctor.
