PRODOXIME-100 DT is the brand name of Cefpodoxime Proxetil 100 mg Dispersible Tablet. It is used to treat bacterial infections but not viral infections like common cold and flu. This medication should be taken only if necessary as prescribed by doctor or else it might not work for future infections.

Take the tablet with food.
You can take it around same time of the day.

Mode of Action
- Cefpodoxime Proxetil binds with bacterial transpeptidase and inhibits the cross-linking of Peptidoglycan.
- This leads to bacterial cell wall synthesis inhibition and thus, death of the bacteria.
- Cefpodoxime Proxetil has bactericidal activity.

- Bronchitis
- Uncomplicated Gonococcal Infections
- Urinary Tract Infections
- Acute Otitis Media
- Acute Maxillary Sinusitis
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity to Cefpodoxime or other Cephalosporin.
Precautions and Warning
- Pregnancy Category B. Consult to your doctor if you are pregnant before taking this medicine.
- Lactation: Excreted into milk, Not recommended with Breastfeeding
- Pediatrics: Safety and Efficacy in the infant < 2 month of age have not been established.
- Geriatrics: Dose adjustment is not necessary with normal renal function.
- Talk to doctor about your medical condition especially kidney disease or intestinal/stomach disease before taking this medicine.
- If you take antacid, take it 2 hours before or after this medicine.
- If you are taking PPIs(Pantaprazole) or H2 blockers (Ranitidine) then consult to your doctor before taking this medicine as these medications might reduce the effect of Cefpodoxime.
- Don't stop this medication before the prescribed time even if the infection goes away.
