Dr. Rakesh Verma specializes in Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics. He completed his MBBS from Nepalgunj Medical College, Nepal. Following this he served as Medical officer at various secondary and tertiary care hospitals and worked as tutor of BSc Nursing/ Staff Nursing college in his hometown. He then completed his MD degree from B.P. Koirala Institute of Health Sciences, Dharan, Nepal. Post that, he is serving his 2 years of Government scholarship bond as Consultant Clinical Pharmacologist at Department of Drug Administration, Kathmandu, Nepal. He is recently deputed as Clinical Trial Inspector for inspection and regulation of national clinical trials. He runs his clinic and teach undergraduate medical aspirants outside his regular duty hours. He is currently writing textbook of pharmacology for BSC Nursing students in collaboration with faculties of IOM, TUTH, Nepal.
He is the lifetime founding member and first general secretary of NGMC, HOPES (a charitable nongovernmental organization at Nepalgunj Medical College). He also served 2 terms as member followed by General Secretary of Junior resident welfare society, BPKIHS, Dharan. He is also the lifetime member of Nepal Medical Association and Society of Pharmacologists of Nepal. He is our Executive Board Member and General Secretary of NEDOL.
Currently, he is leading the movement of “Creating position for Clinical Pharmacologist in the government sectors of Nepal”. He recently received invitation from British Pharmacological Society to come to Glasgow, Scotland as presenter for World congress of Clinical Pharmacology, 2023 from 2-7 July. He has already published articles in International indexed journals and few original papers are under pipeline.
He recently played key role in signing MoU between Nepal Health Research Council and Nepalese Doctor’s Lounge regarding capacity building training sessons for budding young researchers/scientists.
