Becoming a Doctor has captivated my consciousness since my medical school days in the Philippines. I did not want to focus on just one aspect of medicine but explore the field on a comprehensive level. The emphasis on holistic health is inspiring, and it is a field where you get to develop close and trusting bonds with patients throughout their lives. Upon realizing my interest in this field, I set out to work with as diverse a patient population as possible. Through my schooling, I got to work with everyone from pediatrics to geriatric care and learned how to communicate with people from all walks of life. Studying medicine in a new country, where I had to adapt to cultural differences, was also an excellent means of sharpening my communication skills.
My commitment and focus to learn more about the various responsibilities of the medical staff are incomparable since it is my earnest desire to become a competent physician possessing the right qualities. This endeavor will also further prepare me to serve the community, making a difference in the lives of people through providing optimal medical help and educating them of the roots and causes of various health conditions.
