Deepak Khadka, MD is a graduate of Nepal Medical College Teaching Hospital. Dr. Khadka did his residency at BP Koirala Lions Center for Ophthalmic Studies, Tribhuvan University, Nepal with a "Gold Medal". During his residency, he was able to provide superior care and consultation that resulted in overall improvement in department's patient satisfaction quotient. Afterwards, he was awarded International Council of Ophthalmology fellowship in Medical Retina at Gunma University Japan. He was also awarded Fred Hollows Foundation scholarship in Surgical Retina at Tilganga Institute of Ophthslmology, Nepal and further awarded a grant for Observership in Surgical Retina at Moran Eye Center, USA. Dr Khadka had practiced at Geta Eye Hospital for 9 years since 2008, one of the top high volume cataract surgical center in Asia. He was mainly involved in doing high volume cataract and retina surgeries and had trained many residents and fellows from Nepal and abroad. Dr Khadka now has been practising at BP Eye Foundation, CHEERS and City Eye Care Center, Thimi, Nepal. He is currently the Chair and Director of Himalayan Eye Care Foundation and City Eye Care Center, Nepal. Dr. Khadka has experience of performing more than 80000 cataract, 4000 Retina surgeries including 10000 cataract surgeries abroad in Myanmar and Cambodia. He currently has 6 publications and has co-authorships spanning several other publications in indexed journals. He is listed as section editor in Nepalese Journal of Ophthalmology. Currently Dr. Khadka holds certification from Nepal Medical Council and Nepal Ophthalmic Society.
