Heart failure patients have a tendency to have fluids accumulated in different compartments of body, including lungs. But, yet heart failure could also be due to illness pertaining to heart too. If she is having shortness of breath, the best thing you can do is taking her to emergency department and evaluating her status. Consult your cardiologist before she develops other complications. Lasix is used to increase urine output and decrease fluid volume in body. But, if she is having shortness of breath despite lasix, consult as the dose needs to be monitored and reevaluated.
